Lifting and strength

A look at the squat, hinge, press and carry, with a bar in your hands.

Tremaine and the team look at how you move under load. You bring the lifts you train, and we write down which to keep, which to change and which to pause while you build back.

This care is for you if

  • You lift, from a home rack to a meet

  • A lift feels different than it used to

  • You want to know how to load while you recover

  • Your coach and your therapist should be on the same page

What we do

What happens in your hour

  • Your lifts, looked at

The squat, hinge, press and carry, watched and talked through at the clinic's racks.

  • Loading, planned

How much, how often and in what order to train while your body adapts.

  • Hands-on care

Manual therapy where it helps you move, with the risks explained first.

What to know before you book

  • What decides how many visits

That depends on your exam, the lifts you train and how your body responds. Your therapist explains what decides it and checks in every visit.

  • When to see a doctor first

See a physician first, or call 911, for chest pain, trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache or pain, new weakness or numbness, or loss of bladder or bowel control. Your therapist will also send you to a physician if the exam points that way.

Questions about this care

Do I have to stop lifting?

Often not. Your therapist tells you which lifts to keep, change or pause, and writes it down.

Can I bring my own program?

Yes. Bring it to your first visit, and we build the plan around it.

Do you train me?

We are physical therapists, not a gym. We coach the loading of what hurts, and your gym or coach keeps the rest of your training.

Book your first hour

You get one therapist, a written plan and a written estimate before you pay. How fees work explains the rest.
